Tech Savvy in Thailand

We (my dearest and I) visit Bangkok once every three to four months. Every time we visit Bangkok we realised the changes that happened in Bangkok (BKK). When we arrived at the airport in BKK we would automatically head for the immigration while some head for the smoking room and some head for the toilet.

While at the immigration, the queue was long and I was bored to my bones and I begin to wonder around. I look back and I saw this man in his suit was on fiddling with his mobile phone and a lady standing so close to him that I mistook her for his companion. Thoughts came to my mind hmmm a man with an awfully taste for a companion he is dressed in suit and tech savvy while the lady was cheatly dressed in a shirt and a pair of black pants and tongs. Finally she made her moved to stand infront of him. Finally his focus on the gagdet was diverted. He spoke to her and told her to be in the queue and not to cut the queue. Ahhhhh. Not too bad he didnt have such bad taste afterall. She went back to standing behind him and reasuring him that she wasnt trying to cut the queue.

Minutes later, a man walked towards the lady dressed similarly to the lady a bad taste of dressing which you can instant detect that is the Singaporean kind of dressing. Now my attention got diverted as the I was approaching the immigration counter.

My curiosity aroused me that makes me stretch my neck and to check the gender of the immigration officer. ( hmmmm a tanned complexion lady who looks glum) maybe she looks glum because of the amount of arriving passenger and the amount of work she needs to handle for that morning. I realised at every counter of the immigration desk there is a ball on a monostilt. Oh how kind of them to provdie lights for the immigration officer each has desktop light. Oh no that is not a light that is a monitor system, (i thought a monitor to see how long is the queue... . Ok that way the immigration officer would work faster to clear the long queue. as waited and 30 minutes passssssed and still the immigration officer wasnt working any faster.

As I approach the counter it reads.. look in the direction of the camera. Finally I got it that is the camera to capture the picture of every tourist that comes into BKK. Real cool .... they are keeping my photo as their souvenirs so I am very priviledge tourist. Only thing that is missing is my autograph but nevermind I sure they will change for me to sign on my photos.

As i was leaving Bangkok, I was thinking to myself and I suppose that is a very big data file that they keep of those tourists coming in to Bangkok of keeping their images for security reason. Thailand is moving fast with technology. Singapore is at the losing end.
